4. Closing the Sale

1. Understanding Fragrance

Red Scout Skincare Express Course

Everyone wants great skin and while customers are increasingly savvy about skincare products and ingredients available on the market, they still look to the beauty consultant to guide them into making the right decision and providing them with expert advice.

Red Scout’s Skincare Course provides your beauty consultants with the fundamental, practical information to do this with confidence.

The Skincare Course comprises four core modules:

  1. Skin ID
  2. Skincare Steps and Products
  3. Common Skin Concerns
  4. Skin by Age Group

 

1. Skin ID

Identifying skin types correctly is critical to a successful consultation.   

We review the common skin types, how internal and external factors affect skin, what sensitive skin is and what this really means, as well as skincare terms such as pH levels, collagen and elastin.

2. Skincare Steps and Products

A detailed presentation of the skincare product matrix, and how to provide the best skincare product recommendation to the customer. 

We teach beauty consultants about each skincare step and the various types of products that they may come across for each particular step, e.g. in Step 1 for Cleansing, we cover all product textures (gels, balm, milk, cream, etc), their USPs, benefits, etc to give beauty consultants a strong understanding of the product matrix.

3. Common Skin Concerns

Common skin concerns are a topic of conversation in every health and beauty retail environment. 

We cover in detail 13 common skin concerns – how they occur, the causes, and recommendations for each particular skincare issue.

4. Skin by Age Group

It is important to tailor your approach and solution to customers in different age brackets.

The course comprises four modules covering the four main makeup topics in detail:

  1. Foundation
  2. Powder
  3. Eye Makeup Products
  4. Lip Makeup Products

1. Foundation

Upon completion of this module, you will have a deep understanding of the Foundation category and product matrix so you can define which product is most suitable for your customer. Specific focus will be on Cream, Liquid, Powder & Foundation in One; Mineral; Long Wear; Cushion Foundations as well as Tinted Moisturisers and BB creams.  You will also be able to describe the features, advantages and benefits of each foundation product; confidently choose the best colour and do a simple foundation application.

2. Powder

Upon completion of this module, you will have an in-depth knowledge of the Powder category and product matrix so you can define which product is most suitable for your customer. Specific focus will be applied to Loose, Pressed, and Blotting Powders, as well as Cream to Powder/Liquid to Powder. You will also be able to describe the features, advantages and benefits of each powder product; confidently choose the best colour and do a simple powder application.

3. Eyes

Upon completion of this module, you will have a detailed understanding of the Eye Makeup category and product matrix with a focus on eye shadow, eye liner, mascara and brow products. You will also be able to describe the features, advantages and benefits of each powder product; confidently choose the most appropriate eye product and colour; and then do a simple eye makeup application.

4. Lips

Upon completion of this module, you will have a detailed understanding of the Lip Product category and product matrix with a focus on lip pencils, lip gloss, lipstick and lip balms. You will also be able to describe the features, advantages and benefits of each lip product; confidently choose the most appropriate lip product and colour; and then do a simple lip makeup application.
